SPAIN THIS WEEK

During the inauguration of the new Pompidou Centre, the President of the Government highlighted the dynamic and ambitious nature of Malaga, "a city that has often stood at the vanguard of our history". Furthermore, a commitment has been made to convert the new art centre into a flagship of the union between two countries in pursuit of spreading cultural treasure of unequalled value.

While talking from the site where Germanwings flight 4U 9525 crashed, the President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, said that the three countries will make every endeavour to provide all possible assistance and support to the families of the victims.

In a statement from Vitoria, where he was attending an official event, the President of the Government of Spain said he will do everything within his power to provide the highest level of help and assistance to the families of the victims and "give them our full support and care".

In Vitoria, during the inauguration of the Victims of Terrorism Memorial Centre, the President of the Government stressed that this centre will serve to guarantee that "terrorists do not take possession of a narrative that belongs only to the victims". He also warned that we must be "ready and vigilant" because "we still cannot talk about terrorism as a thing of the past".

In addition to the report on the deficit of the public administration, the government tackled the reform of the General Tax Act that will result in the list of debtors owing the largest amounts to the public treasury and those sentenced for tax offences to be published. It has also strengthened the office entrusted with care for the victims of the plane accident in French Alps.
