2019 Davis Cup Finals |
In November, Madrid will turn into the world capital of tennis as it hosts the sport’s biggest annual international tournament. The world's top tennis players will gather at La Caja Mágica to compete in the final stage of the Davis Cup, now in its 118th year. Among the new features at this edition, music will play a prominent role. Artists like Shakira, Camilo, Pedro Capó, DJ Alan Walker, Farruko and Taburete will perform during the competitions. |

“Cinema's Cruz Novillo” exhibition |
Madrid Film Office and the DIMAD foundation have co-organised the exhibition “Cinema’s Cruz Novillo”, which will be held until 17 December at Central de Diseño in Matadero Madrid. It offers a journey through the film posters of graphic designer Pepe Cruz Novillo, in the context of the changes that have occurred in film history and Spanish society from the 1960s to the present. |

Dspeakeasy by Diego Guerrero |
The Basque chef's newest culinary venture, Dspeakeasy, has joined the ranks of his two other spaces in the neighbourhood of Las Salesas: DSTAgE, a restaurant with two Michelin stars, and Dspot Studio, his creativity studio. Located in Calle Fernando VI, its concept differs from and complements that of DSTAgE, offering a straightforward, simple menu. The ground floor holds DPickleRoom, a cocktail and snack bar. |

Lobito de Mar by Dani García |
With Lobito de Mar, chef Dani García brings a slice of his coastal home province of Málaga to the capital. Located in the heart of Barrio de Salamanca, at no. 10 in Calle Jorge Juan, the establishment has two distinct zones: the bar area, for all tastes and budgets, where you can have tapas, skewers, shellfish and fried fish; and a restaurant, where rice dishes take pride of place. |

Perfomance of El Niño y la Bestia |
Writer Elvira Lindo, the author of Manolito Gafotas, blends theatre with music in this performance, creating a tale inspired by Richard Wagner’s musical dramas. With music by Finnish pianist Jarkko Riihimäki, the show features a range of instruments: violin, viola, double bass, English horn, clarinet and piano. Faro de Moncloa |
Discover the city's best views from the observation deck at the Faro de Moncloa. You’ll be able to see the Royal Palace, La Almudena Cathedral, the Telefónica Building on Gran Vía avenue, Cuatro Torres Business Area and even the peaks of the Guadarrama mountains in the distance. You’ll also be able to discover how the city has grown and evolved over the course of its history, thanks to the information panels displayed along a guardrail. Located in the heart of Madrid’s university zone, Ciudad Universitaria, it’s a former transmission tower that stands 110 metres high. It was built in 1992, the year that the city was named European Capital of Culture.

Anniversary celebrations |

Centenary of the death of Benito Pérez Galdós |
To mark the 100th anniversary of the death of writer Benito Pérez Galdós, the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport will design an extensive programme to pay tribute to one of Spanish literature's best authors, who so deftly chronicled the Madrid of his time. One of the main actions will be a change in the name of Conde Duque Library, which will be renamed the Benito Pérez Galdós Municipal Public Library. In addition, on 4 January a tribute will be held to kick off a broad programme that will revolve around the author's life and work.
