28/07/2017 ​"Spain is growing and improving on a daily basis", says Mariano Rajoy The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, took stock of the first half of the year following the Council of Ministers meeting, at which it was agreed to appeal against the reform of the Regulation of the Regional Parliament of Catalonia. Mariano Rajoy highlighted that in the second quarter of this year Spain has recovered the level of wealth prior to the crisis and advocated maintaining the commitment to fiscal consolidation and structural reform.

He also argued that the commitment by the Spanish society to harmony has allowed "an open, tolerant and dynamic Spain" to be built.

28/07/2017 Government lodges appeal against reform of Regulation of Regional Parliament of Catalonia The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, reiterated, at the press briefing following the Council of Ministers, that "a referendum will not be held on 1 October" in Catalonia. The government also agreed to approve an agreement so that the Ministry of Public Works can take charge of toll motorways that are bankrupt, through a public enterprise.
