The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, announced, at the celebration of the 29th anniversary of the newspaper 'Expansión', that the Spanish economy will grow by 3.3% this year and that individuals will notice the Personal Income Tax reduction in their July wages. The government will also present and process the General State Budget for next year.

In an interview for the radio program "La Mañana" on the Cope channel, the President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, talked about the situation in Greece and went over issues in the national headlines. In addition, he defended keeping the public finance in balance because "if you are in debt you are less free than if you aren't, and I want Spain to be a free country."

After the meeting of the Government Committee for Economic Affairs, chaired by Mariano Rajoy, Vice-President of the Government Sáenz de Santamaría and Minister de Guindos held a press conference. The Vice-President of the Government insisted that "Spain is a supportive country", one which is "open to dialogue", although she also urged Greece "to meet its commitments".

Bringing the tax reform forward will benefit more than 20 million individuals and their families and will inject 1.5 billion euros into the Spanish economy. Furthermore, the government reviewed a report on the situation in Greece and updated legislation on religious denominations in Spain.
