The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, took part in Valletta (Malta) in the meeting of Heads of State and Government of the European Union, who defended European identity and cohesion. He also announced that Spain will remain committed to greater political and economic integration and to security.

During the government control session in the Lower House of Parliament, the President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, defended the government's actions in light of the situation of the savings banks. He remarked that "we did what needed to be done" because, if we had not acted like that, "our financial system would have gone bankrupt" and "we would have suffered serious economic problems that would have affected us all".

During an institutional event to posthumously award Rita Barberá with the Golden Key for Municipal Contribution, granted by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (Spanish acronym: FEMP), the President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, underlined the role played by local and provincial councils, since they are the authorities that are closest to the public and those which resolve "the day-to-day problems of everyone".

At Moncloa Palace, the President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, accompanied by the Minister for Defence, María Dolores de Cospedal, received the association of families of the servicemen who lost their lives in the Yak-42 aircraft in Turkey, returning home from a mission in Afghanistan. The meeting, which lasted for close on two hours, was described by the President of the Government as "frank and cordial".

During the course of their meeting, the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and relations between the EU and Ecuador, as well as the main issues on the regional Ibero-American agenda.

Es un encuentro clave para estar a la última en arte contemporáneo. ArcoMadrid regresa a la capital del 22 al 26 de febrero, para celebrar su edición número 36 con Argentina como país invitado.

La feria internacional, consolidada como referente para el descubrimiento de nuevos talentos y contenidos, será punto de encuentro de 199 galerías. En esta ocasión, habrá una importante representación internacional y, en concreto, de Latinoamérica, posicionando a ArcoMadrid como punto de encuentro e intercambio entre Europa y los países latinoamericanos. Con casi un tercio de su programación dedicada al diálogo de artistas, mostrará tanto el trabajo de jóvenes como Elena Alonso o Fito Conesa hasta el de referentes como Anna Oppermann, Henri Chopin, Mihai Olos o Robert Breer. Un programa muy completo en el que no faltarán, entre otras propuestas, el foro Encuentros Profesionales o la Sesión de trabajo de Museos, en la que participan 30 directores y representantes de las pinacotecas.

Hasta el próximo 5 de febrero, Gastrofestival Madrid ofrece los mejores planes culturales y gastronómicos. Budapest Nuevas exposiciones en febrero 
Este mes de febrero, los museos y espacios culturales de la ciudad de Madrid estrenan numerosas exposiciones. El museo Thyssen-Bornemisza inaugurará “Obras maestras de Budapest. Del Renacimiento a las Vanguardias” (21 de febrero-28 de mayo), mientras que el Reina Sofía tiene programada “Bruce Conner. Es todo cierto” (22 de febrero-22 de mayo). También destacan una muestra del genio del surrealismo neerlandés, Escher, en el Palacio de Gaviria (1 de febrero-25 de junio); “Bacon. La cuestión del dibujo”, en el  Círculo de Bellas Artes (13 febrero-21 de mayo); o “Retorno a la belleza. Obras maestras del arte italiano de entreguerras”, en la Fundación Mapfre (22 de febrero-4 de junio).

VII Festival de Magia del Price

Llega la primera gran cita del año con la moda en Madrid. La capital celebra, del 16 al 21 de febrero en Ifema, la Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid. Una gran pasarela por la que desfilarán las últimas creaciones, tanto de diseñadores consagrados como noveles para la temporada Otoño/Invierno 2017/18. Entre las principales novedades de esta 65 edición, la vuelta de Roberto Verino a la pasarela madrileña o la incorporación de los diseñadores Custo, Marcos Luengo y Menchén Tomás, que, por primera vez, mostrarán sus trabajos en este evento.

A key fixture for keeping abreast of the latest in contemporary art, ARCOmadrid returns to the capital from 22 to 26 February for its 36th edition, with Argentina as guest country.
The international fair, which has a well-established reputation for discovering new talent and content, will be a meeting point for 199 galleries. This time round, the event is expected to feature extensive international input, particularly from Latin America, placing ARCOmadrid at the centre of contact and exchange between Europe and Latin American countries. With almost a third of the programme devoted to dialogue between creators, the fair will be showcasing work by young artists including Elena Alonso and Fito Conesa as well as by leading figures like Anna Oppermann, Henri Chopin, Mihai Olos and Robert Breer. A well-rounded programme that includes, as always, the Professional Encounters forum and the Museums Working Session in which 30 directors and art gallery representatives are expected to take part.

Cooking up a storm until 5 February, Gastrofestival Madrid promises a series of fantastic cultural and culinary offerings. Workshops and cookery courses, masterclasses, tastings, wine pairings and menus at special prices join experiences like themed museum tours and a tour of Mercamadrid led by chef Juan Pozuelo. Plus, Conde Duque, the festival's main cultural venue, will be dishing up some interesting activities including The Newspaper Archive Lays the Table, Gastrotonadilla, the Zanfona tasting, Cheese & Tea, and even a virtual reality experience in a bakery.

This February, the city of Madrid's museums and cultural venues will be hosting a huge selection of exhibitions. The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum will be showing “Masterworks from Budapest. From the Renaissance to the Avant-Garde” (21 February-28 May), and the Reina Sofía Museum has programmed “Bruce Conner. It's All True” (22 February-22 May). Visitors can also enjoy an outstanding show of work by Dutch surrealist genius Escher at Gaviria Palace (1 February-25 June); “Bacon. The Question of Drawing” at Círculo de Bellas Artes (13 February-21 May); and “Return to Beauty. Masterpieces of Italian Art Between the Wars” at the Mapfre Foundation (22 February-4 June).

Nueva línea de autobuses EMT entre la Cañada Real Galiana y la estación de Puerta de Arganda - Vicálvaro


El Consorcio Regional de Transportes de Madrid (CRTM) ha puesto en marcha la primera línea de autobuses municipal de la Cañada Real Galiana. Este Servicio Especial, operado por la EMT, une el límite entre los sectores 2 (Vicálvaro) y 3 (Vicálvaro y Rivas Vaciamadrid) de la Cañada Real con el *intercambiador de Puerta de Arganda, donde coinciden la línea 9 de Metro, las líneas C-2 y C-7 de Cercanías y cinco líneas de la EMT. * El primer servicio de la línea saldrá a las 7:55 horas desde la cabecera de Puerta de Arganda y a las 7:15 horas desde Cañada Real, y el último partirá a las... más »

Aumentan un 2,65% los viajeros de Metro en 2016


*Metro de Madrid registró durante 2016 un total de 584.845.945 viajeros, lo que representa un incremento del 2,65%* respecto a los usuarios que tuvo en 2015. Estos datos confirman la tendencia alcista en el uso del Metro, impulsado principalmente por la implantación por parte de la Comunidad de Madrid del abono joven con tarifa plana de 20 euros, en octubre de 2015. No más circos con animales salvajes

Un plan para recuperar y conservar los 23 humedales de la región


*La Comunidad de Madrid trabaja ya en el nuevo Plan Integral de Recuperación y Conservación de los Ríos y Humedales*, cuyo principal objetivo es mejorar la calidad de las aguas y al mismo tiempo proteger la biodiversidad y el paisaje de estas zonas. 25.730 viviendas se benefician de las ayudas municipales a la rehabilitación, Plan MAD-RE

Pisos de especial necesidad de la Agencia de Vivienda Social


La Comunidad ha entregado una vivienda de especial necesidad a una familia formada por una mujer de 49 años con dos hijos de 15 y 13 años a su cargo.
