01/06/2017 Mariano Rajoy commits to a strong industrial sector that creates jobs The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, expressed the government's interest in working with social stakeholders and political groups to reach a State Pact for Industry. He also said that Spain and the European Union share the goal of the industrial sector making up 20% of GDP by 2020.

31/05/2017 Mariano Rajoy and Narendra Modi boost bilateral relations between Spain and India The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, received the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, at Moncloa Palace. Having welcomed him and after thanking him for making his visit to Spain, he announced the signing of a document to serve as a guide to develop "relations at a political, security, economic, scientific and technology level".

30/05/2017 Spain and Portugal step up cross-border cooperation Spain and Portugal agreed, at the 29th Bilateral Summit, to jointly present the European Union with an integrated programme on cross-border cooperation. They also signed agreements in such fields as transport, infrastructure, tourism, social affairs, and science and technology. The two countries will have three new railway corridors by 2021.

29/05/2017 Mariano Rajoy and António Costa chair 29th bilateral Portugal-Spain Summit The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, and the Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa, started the bilateral summit aboard a ship that sailed down a stretch of the River Duero. Relations between Spain and Portugal and ways to improve cross-border cooperation were the main topics of review by the two leaders.

02/06/2017 Government reaffirms commitment to Paris Agreement on climate change The government asserted that the European Union will continue to head up the fight against climate change at a global level and that Spain will play its part among the leadership of this fight. It also regulated the conditions for obtaining a formal qualification in Required Secondary Education and Further Secondary Education.
