Madrid celebrates architecture in October
The city’s extensive architectural heritage is showcased in the month of October thanks to three architecture-related events: Open House Madrid, Architecture Week and Madrid Otra Mirada (Madrid From Another Perspective). These three initiatives enable visitors and locals alike to discover and enjoy this rich heritage and become intimately familiar with the city.

Open House Madrid (1 and 2 October) is an international architecture festival organised by Culture Care Foundation which invites people to visit over 70 buildings and Madrid’s most iconic urban areas free of charge. This year Architecture Week (running until 9 October) will feature New York as its guest city, and its programme includes a wide range of events, tours, itineraries, exhibitions and other activities. Last but not least, Madrid Otra Mirada is a project designed by Madrid City Council with the aim of showcasing the capital’s cultural and artistic heritage through guided tours, talks, concerts and exhibitions.

The show is a journey through the tactile sensations captured by the artist in his paintings across a wide variety of genres: group scenes, portraits and nudes as well as still lifes and landscapes. The exhibition can be enjoyed from 18 October to 22 January 2017.
