In line with the resolution of the European Parliament on 12 March 2015, the President of the Government reiterated his concern at the situation of Leopoldo López and the rest of the political prisoners in Venezuela and conveyed to Lilian Tintori and to the respective families, as well as to all the people of Venezuela, a message of encouragement, affection and solidarity.

The President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, highlighted Spain's "immense cultural heritage", which is "a legacy shared by all of us." During questions from journalists, he also said he agreed with the European Commission that if one part of a Member State becomes independent, that part is excluded from the European Union.

On Monday morning, the "El Programa de Ana Rosa" programme on Telecinco broadcast a report-interview with the President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy, which was recorded a few days ago at Moncloa Palace. During a long and informal conversation with the journalist Ana Rosa Quintana, the President of the Government not only spoke about political affairs but also answered questions of a personal and family nature.

At a press briefing in the Lower House of Parliament, the President of the Government announced that the priorities for the rest of the legislature include approving the Budget and ensuring that the EU comprehensively tackles the phenomena of asylum and immigration. Furthermore, he highlighted the positive employment trend, revenue from taxation and available credit.

The priorities of the plan, with a provision allocated of 104 million euros, are to detect, prevent and raise awareness of situations of people trafficking, as well as identifying, protecting and assisting victims. The government has also set up two liaison missions with Italy and Greece to facilitate and organise the arrival of refugees in Spain.
