The President of the Government, at the conclusion of the European Council, expressed his satisfaction at the progress made on energy policy, which is one of Spain's main priorities at a European level, at the backing received for the Madrid Declaration on interconnections and at the recognition of the results obtained by Spain in terms of economic growth and job creation.
The President of the Government, in a statement prior to the start of the European Council meeting, expressed his satisfaction that the two Spaniards who were reported missing in Tunisia have been found and are alive and well, although he regretted the death of two other compatriots who died in the terrorist attack that took place in that country on Wednesday.
During an interview with Carlos Herrera for the programme "Herrera en la Onda" on Onda Cero, the President of the Government stressed that the main objective for the future must be achieving the figure of 20 million Spaniards in work. After reminding the audience that the bipartite model has brought Spain progress and well-being, he underlined the "resolution" and "independence" with which corruption has been combated.
The reform seeks to boost access to quality jobs, strengthen transparency and avoid fraud in the management of resources allocated to training. The government has also approved the Public Employment Offer for 2015 with 7,416 new positions - 340% up on last year - and submitted to Parliament the new Laws on Voluntary Work and Social Action in the Third Sector.
